A quiet space to share who I am, what I value, and the stories that shape our family — past, present, and still unfolding.

About

From a young age, my father trained me in reading and writing out the Bible.

God’s word is rooted in my heart, and has shaped my life.

Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.

Deuteronomy 30:11–14

I work in investment management. I trained first as an actuary and mathematician, disciplines that continue to shape how I see order, pattern, and the limits of human understanding. Alongside this, I remain an amateur student of theology, a keen bridge player, and someone who still finds real pleasure in the slow unfolding of a cricket match.

The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, without painful toil for it.

Proverbs 10:22

My family is the daily context of my calling. I am married to Gloria, and we are raising our children with the prayer that they too might come to know the Lord. Much of faithfulness, I have found, is hidden in the ordinary — the repeated, often unseen acts of love, responsibility, and presence that make up most of life.

Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.

Deuteronomy 4:9

I come from a family marked by God’s kindness across generations. My great-grandfather, Bastianpillai Paul Nicholas, was used to establish one of the early banks in Malaya. That story of enterprise and perseverance remains a source of gratitude, even as I seek to walk my own path in this generation. You can read more of the family story here.

“The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for the thousandth generation, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin,”

Exodus 34:6b–7a

Above all, I live in hope that the Lord Jesus will return, and that He will yet visit this land in mercy. Until that day, I want to live with a quiet gladness in the present — trusting that the same God who has been faithful to those who came before me will be faithful still.
